Tex     Cat Ballou

                 Howdy Folks -

Greetings from Silver City, New Mexico!

Yup, that ol' boy in the photo up there is smilin' because he just shot a CLEAN ANNUAL MATCH - 12 stages, no misses, no procedurals, no BS, at the Gila Rangers Southwest Border Dispute '08 which was also the 2008 SASS New Mexico State Championship.  Three days of fun shooting.  96 shooters made for a nice sized match.  For more information on the Gila Rangers, click here.

I had the privilege of being on the same posse as Tex and Cat Ballou - 2 fine folks who were a lot of fun to shoot with.  Tex shoots a pair of Ruger New Vaqueros (7 1/2" barrels) in 45 cal with full BP loads, so he puts out even more smoke than me.  Only he shoots them gunfighter and MUCH faster than I do.  We had 4 gunfighters on our posse and several BP shooters.  That made for even more fun.

We are starting to come out of our summer monsoon season here in southwest New Mexico.  We get thundershowers nearly every day, usually in the late afternoon.  The high desert has turned a beautiful green everywhere one looks.  Temps are in the high 70s to mid 80s, damn near perfect!

If you have not already signed up for Adobe Walls, now is the time to do so.  Click here for AW 08 info.
